Core Team Member, Falyn Swerer brings Female Soldiers BJJ to China!
Empowering Women in Jiu Jitsu Worldwide!
Women’s Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is rapidly gaining momentum globally. However, in places like mainland China, BJJ is still male dominated. In attempts to support women’s BJJ in China, Gracie Barra Dalian will host its first Women’s Open Mat on September 17th. In partnership with Everlast and Josei Heishi Jiu Jitsu, Falyn Swerer will lead the event.
Falyn is a core team member of Josei Heishi Jiu Jitsu and an avid competitor. She previously trained under team Renzo Gracie in New York and after moving to China for work, she now trains with the team Gracie Barra in Dalian. She is the highest ranked woman at the academy, but there are starting to be more and more women and young girls who are trying BJJ
Women’s BJJ in China has a long way to go, but with an event like a Women’s Open Mat, the goal is to build awareness, confidence and all around strong female soldiers of BJJ!
